Baba Simba Tours and Safaris is a locally-owned, family-run tour operator based in Moshi — a vibrant town at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. We were founded with a single mission: to share the extraordinary wildlife, landscapes and cultures of Tanzania with the world, through the eyes of people who truly call this place home.
Our name, Baba Simba — meaning "Father Lion" in Swahili — reflects our commitment to the land and the wildlife we protect and promote. We operate with the pride, strength and local knowledge that only a true Tanzania-born operator can offer.
We specialise in three core pillars: Tanzania wildlife safaris across the Northern and Southern circuits, Mount Kilimanjaro climbing expeditions across all six official routes, and Zanzibar island holidays — often combined as the ultimate Tanzania experience.

Our guides are experienced Tanzanian nationals, certified by the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) and the Kilimanjaro National Park Authority (KINAPA).
All guides are fluent in English and Swahili. Most also speak additional languages including French, Italian and German — please enquire when booking.
